The Prana Diet is a diet based on intake of Prana as a means of health, vibrancy and longevity.

Prana is a Sanskrit word meaning vital life energies.

Prana Diet is a diet where you eat to gain vital life energy. Let us explore one property of energy - Einstein has taught us that energy can never be created nor destroyed only transferred.  Thus, when we eat food - we do not destroy the energy of the plant. It is simply transfered through our metabolic processes.  We also know all things that live, grow or develop require energy to do so. So fresh whole foods have energy! Whether we are actively eating to gain energy or not - we receive it.  The Prana Diet is a way of eating that focuses on the importance of consciously eating as a way to gain energy / prana. I do not think it is eating any one type of way i.e. raw etc., but the types of foods and quality of foods we eat that matter. In the past, we have stopped at the level of macro and micro nutrients as determinants of what nourishes us, but what ultimately nourishes us is a leve below - prana. I argue that the body needs prana and that prana is the ultimate nutrient - that it comes packed in carbs, proteins, minerals and other micro and macro components of our food. In this blog, I will provide some examples of sources of prana, some fun recipes and recipe videos! As well as, all you need to know about eating for prana / energy! Lastly, if you have any questions feel free to post. I will leave you with this example: If you compare a bag of chips with fresh figs, the chips have a lower pranic value than the figs. Thus, if you have figs for a snack on a regular basis while someone else eats chips for a snack on a regular basis, which person will be more vibrant? You will! The prana from the once potato is only residual in the now chips, while the fresh fig retains a large amount of its prana. Thus, you get more energy from eating figs / fresh foods than from chips / processed foods. This can easily be tested- we know that when we eat diets high in processed foods we feel weighed down and sluggish, but when we eat fresh whole foods we have more energy, feel light, healthy, happy and all around more vibrant.

I look forward to exploring prana with you!! The benifits of eating for prana are amazing.
